"This place is an absolute gem! The owner is just the sweetest person and a fantastic chef. My go-to is the Hoboken girl with a cinnamon bagel! My husband got the Big Big Q and it was amazing. We sat outside in the sunshine at one of the little tables. Everything is made from scratch and with love and it shows. Lovely conversation and such good vibes. Could not recommend enough."

"Really cool local cafe/bakery! I spoke with Camilla inside who was very kind, and she made all the food fresh herself. There are plenty of options of bagels and pastries to choose from, and multiple types of breakfast or lunch sandwiches. There is coffee, but currently there is only hot coffee options, as there is no ice machine yet. I asked Camilla about this and she said they have not been able to afford an ice machine yet, but are hoping to have the ability to make iced coffee by next year. I recommend “The Billy” for a sandwich, and also the apple turnover is very good. The Raspberry Crumb tart thing (forgot the name) was also amazing, and I ordered that on Camilla’s recommendation. Let’s support this small business and put it on the map! I gave it a solid 4 stars, only because of not having iced coffee currently, and there not really being any seating inside or outside. Once these things are improved this would be an easy 5 stars! Will definitely be back."

"It was my first time coming to Chatty Magpies and when I say I was greeted with so much kindness I mean it! My boyfriend and I got to speak with the owner and feel her passion for feeding others the best food! She was kind enough to let us try her fresh brioche buns she made free of charge and it was incredible! We ordered the Laks bagel sandwich and the the Billy bagel sandwich and boy are they phenomenal! I highly recommend getting the Laks:) The bagels are ginormous and taste very fresh so it’s 1000% worth the stop! I highly recommend coming in because you won’t be let down! Thank you for an incredible experience Elena and Sasha, I will be back again!"

"What an absolute gem! Elena, the owner/operator/head chef/designer... has done a magnificent job creating a warm, inviting and totally scrumptious place to get great coffee, sandwiches, and pastries. I have been racing about this for two days now and it's time for Charleston to discover this 30 day old eatery. The ambience is charming. Elena is engaging. The food is amazing! This is not a "should", it's a "must". Everything is scratch made and there are even nut-free options. Tip: One can even order (and pay for in advance) a big sandwich to pick up fresh the next morning. We are talking a real and affordable counter to fast food. A+"

"This was my first time coming into this cute little cafe and I left not disappointed in the slightest. The atmosphere was so cute, small, and the workers were the sweetest and very helpful with all the options! I ended up getting their house made everything bagel with the lox and had it paired with the lemon honey hot green tea! I enjoyed my meal at the bar stools and really enjoyed every bite with the girls checking on me every few minutes. I ended up leaving with this raspberry crumble tart… and I didn’t eat it till after lunch… AND IT WAS ABSOLUTELY THE BEST THING IVE EVER TASTED IN MY LIFE! I will be back!"

"I stopped in this shop for a quick breakfast and I was pleasantly surprised. From the kind service to the quality of baked goods I couldn’t ask for a better breakfast spot. The owner was a lovely hardworking women and you can tell how much she loves her bakery. I would 1000% recommend and I will definitely be back."

"As someone who travels frequently, I make a conscious effort to seek out authentic local eateries and cafes. Chatty Magpie Cafe is a true gem. The owner and staff are exceptionally warm and hospitable, a quality that's becoming increasingly scarce. The food and pastries are of the highest quality. My experience was outstanding, and I wholeheartedly recommend this cafe. It's a testament to their commitment that they handle all aspects of their operation in-house, including baking their own bagels. Chatty Magpie Cafe has earned a well-deserved 20-star rating. Keep up the great work!"

"My husband and I are on a mini getaway trip. We came across this Café on our way home. What an absolute hidden gem! Everything is made from scratch—from the buttery, flaky pastries to the perfectly chewy bagels—and you can taste the love and craftsmanship in every bite. The owner and staff were so incredibly welcoming! Her passion for her craft and the care she puts into every detail of the cafe was so inspiring. You can tell this isn’t just a business for her—it’s a labor of love. Can’t wait to come back!"
